Hiking Around Morzine

Hiking around Morzine

There is a huge amount of really good hiking around Morzine. The trails are very well signed and thanks to the large lift system the high valleys and meadows are easy to access for everyone.

Trails are organised so they link between the lifts  and there are plenty of restaurants open along the way. The tourist office provides a good guide with walks marked clearly for ability.

One of the walks you will find in the guide is to the “La Cascade des Brochaux et les Lindarets”.  Les Lindarets is know as the Goat Village because of the large number of free roaming goats in the tiny hamlet.  They are happy to be petted but be careful, they love a nibble on an anorak!  To get to the start of the walk from central Morzine get the Super Morzine lift, followed by the Zore lift.  Then its a 15 minute walk to the Proclou lift to the Avoriaz Plateau were the guide book starts.

If you are more able, there some significant peaks to conquer over 2000 metres, Ressachaux, Haut Forte and Roc D’enfer to name but a few. The Vallee de la Manche is a great place to start with medium to hard walks with a couple of refuges on route for a well earned rest.
