Restaurant Review – La Chamade

If you’ve booked a luxury self catered chalet in Morzine you are likely to want to sample the culinary delights of town.  La Chamade is right in the centre of Morzine, right next door to the Spar.  It is a large fine dining restaurant with a reputation for having an interesting menu.  If you are a foodie and keen to try something new then you’ll enjoy La Chamade

The menu includes tapas style tasters like “Chicken, lamb and bacon cooked in an almond and ginger stock served with “Amazon Chiquart” salad”.  Interesting looking starters and mains include “Pan seared foie gras, cardamom sauce served with a winter salad and spinach and herbs broth” and “Vailly lamb. Braised stew in puff pasted casserole, grilled ribs, bone marrow, verdelette broth and Sarah’s fritter”.

You can book to watch your food being cooked at the Guest Surprise Table.  Please contact the restaurant for more information on this.

You can also get the Savoyard classics and pizza if you wish.  In fact the urban myth is that the owner was about to be awarded a Michelin star if he removed his pizza oven.  The owner refused because it is so popular so he didn’t get the star.

They always have a menu du jour at lunchtime so if you want to try the place without breaking the bank, that would be a good time.  Otherwise, it is on the pricey side.  But I guess that is to be expected given the standard

Last but not least is the Cheese Bar which is open every afternoon and into the evening.  Order a platter of cheese and a bottle of red for a different apres experience

It is always advisable to book in the evenings.  La Chamade has an easy to navigate website or you can call +33.(0)4.50.79.13.91
