Passportes du Soleil 2020 – A Mountain Bike Festival

Passportes du Soleil 2020 Morzine Mountain Bike Festival

This year (2020) sees the 17th edition of the Passportes du Soleil take place in the glorious mountains that surround Morzine. Although a few of the main lifts open early, the event is the official opening of the entire mountain bike area. It takes place over three days and involves a scenic yet adrenaline filled 80km circuit of the Portes du Soleil.

Between the 26th and 28th June 2020 the Passportes du Soleil Mountain Bike Festival descends upon the trails of Morzine. The classic 80km route utilises 15 bike friendly ski lifts providing easy access to over 6500m of two wheeled descent. The route spans trails across both France and Switzerland and takes riders to all corners of the Portes du Soleil. Although the lifts do a lot of the ascending for you, the route does require a fair amount of pedal power too. Riders will need to grind out around 1000 vertical metres of climbing throughout the day.
