The Trafole in Morzine is one of the newest additions to Morzine’s bar scene for Winter 2025/26. It opened in October with a lively Friday night launch, featuring local favourite DJ Stew on the decks and a packed crowd to match.
The bar itself is spacious, with a good-sized dance floor tucked away at the back — perfect for après sessions that roll into the night. With a late licence until 1:30 a.m., The Trafole is shaping up to be a fun, easy-going après spot in the spirit of the Tibetan bar.
Expect upbeat tunes, friendly vibes, and daily après that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
The Trafole has breathed new life into what was once an old souvenir shop near the Morzine Mairie — a space many probably walked past without noticing for years. Now, under the same ownership as Papa Renard (the brilliant little burger joint), it’s been completely transformed — and it couldn’t be in better hands.
Drinks are well-priced and thoughtfully served. I ordered an excellent gin and tonic, which came garnished with fresh fruit, followed by a second round topped with a sprig of rosemary — both delicious and only €9 each. Others in our group shared a bottle of wine, which was also highly rated.
The music was a mix of upbeat pop — nothing too pretentious, which suited me perfectly. We must have had a great time, because we stayed until closing and made very good use of that dance floor.
