La Granges is a traditional local restaurant with a friendly atmosphere and a reasonably priced menu. So it is always popular and gets great tripadvisor reviews. Right in the heart of Morzine, it is tucked away behind the toy shop at the cross roads.
The menu includes lots of traditional Savoyard specialties like fondue and raclette plus steaks, fish and salads and, unusually for France, a vegetarian option. They are best known for their Wild Boar Stew which is delicious and hearty.
We’ve always been really happy with their set menus, the Menu Gourmand includes the Wild Boar Stew with other fish and meat choices. It is good value at €30 for three courses and just €26 for two. Or you can go for the Menu Savoyard which is also two courses for €26 although you two sharing for the majority of the choices. There is a kids menu too.
The service is excellent, efficient and friendly, in fact for a restaurant in France we have felt it is a little quick. But maybe we have got used to spending some time over our dinner! As with most good restaurants in Morzine, they speak great English both in the restaurant and on the phone, so don’t hesitate to ring to book.
All in all, they keep it simple and do it right.
