There could be nothing more quintessential on your Morzine ski holiday than Ice Skating around the town square in the midst of a snowy ski resort. Every year when Winter settles in, Morzine opens up its Outdoor Ice Rink situated right in front of the Office de Tourisme.
Open to the public, the 30m by 15m rink is perfect for beginners who want to take those first slippery steps, with a fence running right around the edge so that you can hold on just until you’ve got control of that Bambi-on-ice look. For those who have a tad more experience, the rink is great fun to play in as it’s bathed in colourful lights and there’s music playing in the square to get you in that Festive spirit.
For an unforgettable evening out from your self catered chalet, make sure you plan a Thursday down at the Ice Rink: every week from 6pm till 7pm there is a Free show performed on the Ice Rink that appeals to both grown-ups and children.
Don’t worry about having to provide your own equipment: skates are available to hire right at the entrance, from your classic ice skates, which are ideal for beginners to find their feet, or you can hire a pair of Hockey skates if you feel like you know what you’re doing and want a bit more of a challenge.
