Rock the Pistes
What can you expect?
For almost a week at the end of March, the 12 resorts of the Portes du Soleil will live to the rhythm of the Rock the pistes festival, offering skiers “pure sensations of skiing and sound”.

Where?
Various stages on-piste across the Portes du Soleil area plus over 30 apres ski concerts within the PDS resorts.

It’s free of charge – so it’s worth checking out regardless during your stay with Elevation Alps!

Line up?
Rock the Pistes have released the line up on their website, so you can have an idea of where you’ll need to be skiing to catch the daily concerts! They’ll release information daily to make sure you know where to catch that day’s live music. Plus if you get to a stage early, enjoy a DJ set from 12.45pm before each main act.

What can you expect? “deep timbre carried by electronic rhythms that blend Berlin techno and French electronica”
Monday 18th March

What can you expect? “Dans le film de ma vie” is the pop/rock blockbuster that fans of our national guitar-hero have been waiting for.”
Tuesday 19th March

What can you expect? “7 years ago, Cachemire kicked rock’n’roll’s heels in the door, throwing a spanner in the works of purists who believed that rock wasn’t the preserve of English phrasing”

Area: Avoriaz – Montriond Les Lindarets
Stage Location: Top of the Ardent bubble
What can you expect? “French rapper…instantly recognizable vocally…roots in hip-hop and reggae”
Friday 22nd March
Start: 1:30pm
Area: Morgins
Stage Location: Morgins Cable Car Summit
What can you expect? “not your typical DJ/producer…collaborator of Beyoncé, Madonna and Lana Del Rey…he is first and foremost a musician, a true composer.”
Saturday 23rd March
Start: 12pm
Area: Morgins
Stage Location: Morgins Cable Car Summit
What can you expect? The Inspetor Cluzo is a “Rock-Blues duo based in Gascony…The band has played over 1,200 concerts in 67 countries around the world.”
Talisco has been described as “crossroads of genres, between generous folk-rock escapism…& the indie-electro productions of a goldsmith raised on the sound of the French touch.”
Snowboxx
What can you expect?
It’s the 10th Anniversary Year for Snowboxx, so you can be sure they’re pulling out all the stops to make it a year to remember. The line up has a great mix of up and coming artists, as well as some sure to get you feeling nostalgic (The Streets) or just pure guilty pleasures like Gok Wan. It’ll be easy to find a way to entertain yourself at this year’s Snowboxx. In their words “Imagine spending an epic week skiing, raving and exploring the world’s largest connected ski area”… sounds pretty good to us.

How to get around from your Elevation Alps property?
Our luxury properties are all based in and around central Morzine, giving you access to the lively town of Morzine, surrounding pistes and wider Portes du Soleil ski area. There’s various ways for you to get up to Avoriaz to enjoy Snowboxx or Rock the Pistes.
Free Bus Service
The free bus service around Morzine is a perfect and easy way to access the slopes and make your way around town during the day. Check out the timetable here, or the live tracker to see how far away the bus is.
Fastest route to Avoriaz centre? And open later for maximum fun?
Take the A or A1 bus from the town centre up to Prodains telecabine.
This will take you directly the bottom of Avoriaz town centre and is a great way to get to the action the quickest way possible.
The Prodains bubble, is open until:
21:00 Monday to Thursday
00:00 Friday and Saturday
22:00 Sunday
Allowing you to make the most of access to Avoriaz and still make it down to Morzine.
Just remember – the free bus service back into Morzine finish at 21:15 hrs from Prodains, so coming down any later than that you’d need to pre-book your own taxi service back into town.
In resort taxis – make sure you pre-book in advance!
If you fancy staying out later than the free bus services, make sure you’ve considered your timings and have pre-booked one of the available in-resort taxi services so you can make it back to your property safely.
