Easy access to snow sure pistes
Morzine benefits from its location at the centre of one of the largest ski areas in the world, the Portes du Soleil, which spans both France and Switzerland. It has quick and easy links to the snow sure slopes of Avoriaz which opens on 13th December. Avoriaz has some of the highest pistes in the Alps and has an amazing snow fall record. The locals are predicting good snow fall in the Alps for Winter 24/25. La Niña is likely to arrive and with it comes colder temperatures. Access to Avoriaz from Morzine is easy. In comparison Avoriaz accommodation is quite limited, it is mainly basic studio apartments which haven’t been renovated for years and it can be relatively expensive.
No Crowds
Skiing before the main holiday period means fewer crowds. This results in shorter lift queues and more open space on the slopes, providing a more relaxed and enjoyable experience.
Lower Prices
Early-season skiing comes with reduced prices for flights, lift passes, ski rentals, ski lessons and catering compared to the peak Christmas and New Year period.
More Flexibility
All service providers will be more flexible in the first week of the season because they want to start work as soon as they can. For example you will be able to book the best ski schools easily and be able to choose where you meet your instructor. You will be able to book a private chef to come for just one night. Elevation Alps accommodation can be booked on an “any day arrival” basis. In fact you are encouraged to book from Friday 13th December to make the most of the Avoriaz testing weekend which starts on Saturday 14th. You could book a long weekend rather than a week long stay if you prefer.
