Morzine in the French Alps has a huge array of adventure activities to try and many of them are based in the water.

We have a fantastic swimming pool with indoor and outdoor pools, slides and toddler play pools.  Montriond lake is in the most fantastic setting and is set up just like a beach, with areas to sunbath, picnic, hire kayaks and paddle boards.  There are some very good restaurants and snack bars surrounding the lake too.

Whitewater Rafting

Rafting down the River Dranse is not for the faint hearted.  Your guide will lead you down a raging river and you will have to pull your weight.  You might also have time to leap off some high rocks on the 2 hour trip.

The Nyon canyon is one of the best stretches of water for miles around for canyoning.  With narrow shoots and waterfalls this is an adrenaline fueled trip.

Wibit Les Gets

The L’Ecole Lac at Les Gets has long been a great little swimming lake.  The purpose built lake has lots of nice grass area to sit and is easily accessible for smaller kids.  There is a slide, playpark and cafe.  Last year they installed the Wibit infatable in the centre of the lake and is proved really popular.  It is back again this year.   The Wibit is a waterpark composed of inflatable games on water.  There is a mix of around 30 fun modules like giant toboggan, climbing wall, blob (human catapult) or the monkey ladders.

Open every days from Wednesday 20th June to Sunday 2nd September 2018, from 11am to 8pm.

Age Limit: Over 6 years
Price: 10 euros or 8 euros with the Multipass 
How to book: L’Ecole Lac at Les Gets charges 2 euros per person to pay for the lifeguards.  You can get there in the car and park for free nearby. Or you can get the bus to Les Gets then the Petit Train from the Chavanne lift office to the lake.  (https://en.lesgets.com/i-want/famille/wibit.html)

Splash Morgins

The biggest inflatable water slide in Europe is in Morgins again this year from July 28th to August 26th.  You will reach up to 55km an hour and its a wild ride down.

Ok, you’ll need to drive to Morgins for this activity but it is part of the Portes du Soleil group of villages so we’ve included it in this top 5.

For 2018 they have added a zip wire over the side too.

There are 2 slides; the adult one is for over 12s and a kids one for 6-12 years.

The new kid to the rafting block, Hydrospeeding gets you up close and personal with the rapids.  You get an individual “white-water sledge” and a reinforced wet suit.  A bit of coaching will give you the skills to get down the river rapids under your own steam.  The trip takes about 2.5 hours
