Week Commencing Saturday 14th March 2020 – Weekly Events Schedule
Every week throughout the winter season Morzine puts on a whole host of weekly events to keep you entertained when you venture down off the hill. This week is Rock the Pistes Festival where you’ll find live music gigs happening all over the ski area in popular apres spots as well as pop up events on the slopes.
Here’s what’s going on throughout the week (we’ve listed the main and most accessible gigs, for the full RTP lineup please contact the tourist office):
Sunday 15th March 2020
Skip The Use play live at les Crosets for RTP festival. From 12:45 to 15:00 musicians Skip The Use will play the hits from their new album Past & Future at the Telesiege Lechereuse ski lift in les Crosets on the Swiss side of the ski area.
Squid Lips play live at Hotel le Tremplin for RTP festival. Manchester raised but now Morzine locals Squid Lips play what will be a lively upbeat set at the wonderful terrace at le Tremplin which backs onto the Pleney slopes. Located just next to the bottom of the Pleney lift this is sure to be a great event, its starts at 4pm
Welcome Drinks – Head on down to the tourist office between 16:30-18:30 and enjoy a welcome drink. Green chaud is Hot Chocolate with green Chartreuse to warm the cockles and there is also local cheese to try from the l’Alpage dairy.
Monday 16th March 2020
Delux play a gig for RTP festival at the summit of the Pierre Longue lift in Chatel at 13:30
Brice Masson Band play Hotel le Tremplin for RTP festival. Head down to the Tremplin at 4pm for a live blues performance from The Brice Masson band
Tuesday 17th March 2020
The Watt House play Hotel le Tremplin for RTP festival at 4pm
Wednesday 18th March 2020
Local Market – Every Wednesday morning from 8am- 12:30pm Morzine hosts a wonderful market in the Carrefour/post office car park. Local producers come from the surrounding villages with the best meats, fruits, vegetables and cheeses available.
Justin Basscamp plays an electronic music set at Hotel le Tremplin at 4pm for RTP festival
Ice Hockey Match – Head down to the Skoda Arena (located under the Super Morzine bridge in the town centre) for an 20:45 kick off. The Morzine Penguins are very competitive and play in division 2 of the French league. This fixture is a friendly match but will still be action packed.
Thursday 19th March 2020
Cheese Dairy Tour – Every Thursday between 9-10am the local cheese dairy opens its doors to the public. The tour of the dairy will show you how the local cheeses are made and you’ll of course have the opportunity to try and buy the cheeses. (also possible every Wednesday 9-10am). The dairy is located on Route de la Plagne just past the Super Morzine roundabout at La Fruitière l’Alpage
Historical Tour of Morzine – meet at the Place de l’Eglise by the Marie roundabout at 10am for a free two hour historical tour of Morzine with a professional guide who will enlighten you on how Morzine has developed throughout history.
Alam Play Hotel le Tremplin at 4pm for RTP festival
Friday 13th March
IAM concert in Avoriaz for RTP festival. Old school French rap group IAM play the high altitude venue at 13:30
DJ Ronan Gravier closes up the RTP festival with a live set at Hotel le Tremplin from 4pm
